about

Today, Bandcamp is providing 100% of the shares to artists and labels. To support both those fighting for the defense of Black lives and defunding the police, and those most affected by police brutality, we are donating equally any revenue today from our previously-released compilation on Bandcamp towards three Los Angeles organizations working tirelessly on the streets to protect Black and unhoused residents:

Los Angeles Community Action Network (LA CAN) — a physical community hub located in Skid Row that assists unhoused residents around the area and beyond with political action on their behalf, and provides space for other organizations to collect, prepare, and distribute outreach materials and food assistance for unhoused residents across the city
cangress.org

Street Watch LA — an outreach and action group, and subsidiary of DSA-LA, spread across the county that holds police & sanitation accountable from harassing unhoused residents, confiscating their property, and violating their rights, and works with unhoused residents to be aware of their rights and organizes with them politically

Black Lives Matter L.A.’s Action Bail Fund — an overall fund, established in conjunction between Black Lives Matter Los Angeles & White People 4 Black Lives, to cover any bail, citations, and supplies on-the-ground people and protestors need as BLM L.A. protestors are punished for fighting for systemic change

To learn more and join the organized fight, please refer to the demands and information from People’s Budget L.A. and the coalition of organizers behind the campaign: peoplesbudgetla.com

Previously, we paid our artists $460.08 directly from a total of $747.52 in revenue after fees (from sales between 5/1 to 5/8). The remaining $287.44 has been offered up by artists as the baseline donation towards the above organizations. Between 5/8 and 6/3, an additional $28.85 in revenue after fees was made. This will be added towards the baseline donation, for a total of $316.29.
